Describe Yourself: My name is Dianna Doles Petry. I am a freelance writer from West Virginia. Many of my poems and several of my short stories have been published in various publications and on the Internet. I have written two books, Memories, and Echoes of a Woman's Soul. I am a member of the West Virgina Writers and Founded a women's group, Women With A Unique Soul, several years ago. My interests are diverse and I hope I continue to learn until the day I am buried. On Gather, I'm Looking For ...: Feedback on my writing, friendship, professional networking, and an outlet for my creative endeavors. Interests Lately I've been listening to: The radio! I'm trying to move myself into the right decade. I'm currently reading: Swimsuit and recently completed Darkling, Changeling, and Dragon Wytch by Yasmine Galenorn The last movie I watched was: Grand Torino at the theater, Eagle Eye here at home My must-see show is: I can't think of anything that I must see that is on television. I'd love to visit: Scotland, Australia, Hawaii I'm curious about: ways to get more of my writing out to the general public. Topping my Wish List is: World Peace should be at the top of everyone's list. Favorite Music, Artists, Genres: My taste in music really depends on my mood. I occasionally listen to Enya but may want to sing along with Toby Keith. The music you are most likely to hear me listening to would be anything by Bob Seger, The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alice Cooper, Brian Adams, One Republic, The Moody Blues, or Kansas. Favorite Books, Writers, Genres: This would be an endless list but I'll list a few. I enjoy anything by Clive Cussler, Janet Evanovich, Robert K. Tanenbaum, Tom Clancy, Stuart Woods, and James Patterson. Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres: Anything with Johnny Depp playing a lead role makes my heart skip a little faster. Once again my mood rules what I watch. When I'm sad or feeling low I want something to uplift me or make me laugh. Sometimes I want a serious movie that makes me think and I enjoy just about all of the thriller movies. Favorite TV Shows, Actors: Dexter, CSI, Criminal Minds, Sons of Anarchy, but I confess, I seldom watch television for more than five or ten minutes Favorite Places: The mountains, lakes, just about anywhere away from crowds of people where I can enjoy natural beauty and solitude Interests and Activities: I am a freelance writer, I love to take long walks along the river, I am a caretaker to my elderly mother and hope to make a difference for other older people. I am interested in education, special needs children and the environment. Wish List: I don't have an actual wish list. I am happy to take each day I am given and live it to the fullest. I hold onto each pleasure I find and let the sadness life hands us fall to the wayside. To constantly ponder what is missing from your life causes you to lose out on precious time with what you already have.
